Brasserie Les Amis
Father and Daughter team Peter and Alison McGrail had a dream to open a typically French bistro in Edinburgh but with a Scottish twist. Using the best possible local ingredients merged with a typically French cooking style, Peter and Alison wanted to create the sort of smart but casual dining experience enjoyed on the continent but rare to find in this country. Working to a strict budget the brasserie is a combination of delicatessen and restaurant with the ability to morph from a casual eaterie during the day to a more formal restaurant in the evening.
The restaurant combines a rich palate of mustard coloured leather with dark woods and frosted glass with liberal use of mirrors, classic style pendant lights and Parisienne style wall paneling to achieve a comfortable yet ‘chic’ atmosphere.
